Place Value - Tens and Units

Understanding which number shows the tens and which number shows the units is very important. Here are some games which can help you do revision and practice. Have fun :)

Venn Diagram

Sometimes we need to group things according to a common characteristic. We call this sorting and we used the Venn diagram to help us sort. We also said that when an object is part of both groups we put in the middle, where both groups overlap whereas if the object does not have any of the groups' characteristic we leave on the sideline.

Here are some exercise which can help you use the Venn Diagram more effectively.

Multiply by 10

In today's Maths lesson we covered the 10 times table. We saw the following video. Play as much as you like to learn the 10 times table.

We also said that in the 10 times table:
- we are adding 10
- we are counting in tens
- all answers are even
- all answers end in 0

Just a reminder to log into my city through Education City to do some more practice. Enjoy and have fun!!
We also made practice using the IWB and worked a couple of handouts. Here are some photos:

A cultural visit to Imdina

Today we visited Imdina, better known as 'The Silent City'. Imdina used to be the capital city of the Maltese Islands before Valletta was built. It is a fortified city because it is surrounded by bastions. We really enjoyed walking along its winding roads admiring its splendors. We visited the cathedral which is dedicated to St.Paul and also the audio-visual show of 'Tales of the Silent City' and 'Medieval Times'. Imdina played an important role in Maltese history and today it is a magnet for tourists. We are so proud of this gem :)

Here are some photos taken on this visit.......
